Royal Dublin Bull Island, Dollymount, Dublin, Ireland
Royal Dublin Golf Club is one of the most historic and oldest in Ireland. Royal Dublin is unique in that Bull Island on which it is located 'grew' out of the Irish Sea after a sea wall was built in the harbour against which sand collected to form the island. Located just four miles from the center of Dublin, the island is accessed by a wooden bridge. The Irish Open was held at Royal Dublin in 1983, 1984 and 1985 and was the scene of memorable contests between Seve Ballesteros and Bernhard Langer particularly the play off in 1985.
