County Louth Golf Club is without question one of the best links courses along the East Coast of Ireland, though not as well know outside of Ireland as some other nearby links. Described by Padraig Harrington as 'one of the most exciting links courses in the country', it is the venue each year for the prestigious East of Ireland Amateur championship and will host the prestigious Irish Open in 2009.
The highly respected Tom Simpson re designed the layout in the mid 1930's and it has remained largely unchanged since. Well positioned bunkers, fast undulating but true greens, and a great variety of holes make Baltray as it is better known in Ireland, an attractive and challenging test of golf.
