What a grand time we had, though Lahinch and Ballybunion did kick a few tails. Everyone was in agreement that Old Head is as spectacular a course as we’ve ever played and Waterville was great fun. Our driver Mark was stupendous, catering to our every whim. We could not have done better than Mark and when we come back he will be a lot of the reason why we do. And lastly, thank you for arranging everything. It all went off without a hitch

Hi Darragh and Eamonn,
well we are on our way home and we just wanted to thank both of you for all of your help and planning. We had a most lovely trip, saw much of the Irish countryside, had beautiful weather for our golf on wonderful courses and we are officially certified to pour Guinness. We found driving exciting and scary at times, especially on one lane roads with two way traffic and sheep. Much fun, and we brought the car back intact. So thanks again, and should anyone ask, we will recommend your company.

Dear Ruairi,

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our golf vacation in Ireland.  The trip was well planned and all of the little things you added like meeting your representative  at the airport and getting the GPS for the trip were spot on. The accommodation were also very nice and the golf (despite some rain) super.  I will certainly recommend you to others, thanks for making this a great experience.

Kind regards,

Hi Ruairi,

Many thanks from the four of us for organizing a wonderful holiday in Ireland.

The hotels were all wonderful, and so were the golf courses. All in all, the trip went without a hitch and we are already looking forward to returning. We will certainly recommend your company to all our friends back in Australia and we wish you all the very best.

Cheers,

Gary and Brigitte Millard, Simon and Gina Webb, Victoria, Australia, 2015

Ruairi and Team,

I wanted to send a thank you for everything you did for us during our trip. It was absolutely amazing in every respect, from the programming of the GPS with all of our locations, to knowing exactly which courses to take caddies and which to go at alone. Building in the travel days worked perfectly because we were never rushed and were even able to reschedule the Old Head time, where we played all 18 with no clouds. I think the only way we could have made the trip better was to stay an extra few days. Your country was beyond beautiful, and you have earned a lifelong customer as I hope to be back many more times. Thank you to you and your entire family for their knowledge and hospitality; it made Ireland the best vacation we have ever taken.

Sincerely,

Andrew Frank, NC, USA, 2015

Ruairi,

The trip was excellent.  Thanks for making all the arrangements.  QC’s and Vaughan were our favorite places to stay.  Would definitely continue to set people up at those places in the future.  The courses were, of course, amazing.

All the best,

Eamonn,

I just wanted to say thanks from our whole group!! It was the most incredible trip in a part of the world that is just spectacular!!  The accommodations were excellent, the golf courses breath taking and the weather was perfect! Luck of the Irish on that one!   The bus we had was perfect and Mark our driver went out of his way to make not only the bus rides to the courses and hotels safe and fun, but also managed to show us some incredible landscape sites and some of Irelands long history….Just spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are already talking about a southern swing in two years!!

Hi Ruairi,

We had a great time and were very fortunate with the weather.  All four days of golf were rain free, in fact we only experienced some light rain in Belfast for a few hours…that was it.   Accommodations were perfect for us, the Merrion and Merchant were easy walking distance to shops, points of interest and restaurants.  Quite frankly the Merchant in Belfast was an extraordinary hotel, far exceeded our expectations and has spoiled us for any future visits, a must now.  The golfing was fantastic, I would have to say Royal Portrush was our favorite, followed by the Island, Port Stewart and European Club.  Next time we will book well in advance to get on Royal County Down, Portmarnock etc…

Thanks again for all your help, we truly enjoyed it and look forward to returning again,

Best regards,

Hi Eamonn,

Just wanted to say Thank You for organizing our group to Ireland! Everything was amazing from accommodations, quality of courses and the bus drivers. It was a trip of life time and the group has already requested a Central & Northern Ireland in the future. The buzz around the club is great considering there was a lot of members sitting on the fence about coming and now wishing they came.

We will be in touch about another trip in the future!!! Have a great winter and holiday season.

Ruairi,

We want to thank you for a wonderful golf vacation in SW Ireland.

Your colleague Eileen was very kind to meet us at the airport, review our itinerary, get us to the rental car company, and guide us to Bunratty Castle while we awaited the Andersons arrival. The GPS she loaned us was invaluable. The rental car/van was large but needed as we could not have gotten our clubs and travel cases in anything smaller.

The accommodations were wonderful and the breakfasts superb. The golf courses speak for themselves. We had wonderful weather throughout our stay, so only got to play in “typical Irish golf weather” – mist/rain/wind –  for 9 holes at Lahinch on our last day. The sightseeing recommendations and dinner recommendations were much appreciated.

We appreciate all the help you provided, and couldn’t be happier with the trip.

With appreciation,

Eamonn,

We spent 4 wonderful days in Ireland. We enjoyed too much, it was great and thank you so much for your help. Old Course, County Louth and Druids are fantastic golf clubs!!

I will recommend you to any person who wants to come to Ireland.

Best regards!!

Ruairi,

I wanted to reach out to tell you about the great time our group had during our golf trip to Ireland this past month.  It couldn’t have been more enjoyable.  The weather, the food, the accommodations and not to mention the golf was fantastic. To top it all off we were lucky enough to have the most hospitable, gracious and outstanding driver Martin Woulfe.  As we toured through the southwest of Ireland, Martin would point out the historical significance of the areas we drove through and stayed at. He would entertain us with jokes and lead us in singing of old Irish songs. All the fellas are still raving about it.

I would highly recommend Golf Vacations Ireland to all who come to Ireland for golf – especially if you can get “Wolfe” as your driver extraordinaire!!!

Thank You Again – Cheers!

Eamonn,

Just a final report to say that we are all safely back in the States. The trip was really quite fantastic and gave us all a good sampling of the best Ireland and Irish golf have to offer. We played Doonbeg in a constant 40 mph wind, which was quite challenging, but overall, the weather was quite good by normal Irish standards; in fact, we are all a bit sunburned. And despite huge meals and a good amount of Guinness, I (for one) came back 5 lbs. lighter.

Paddy our driver guide remained wonderful and accommodating to the end. He’s a gem.

Again, thanks for everything. I hope to have the opportunity to send some more business your way — and will personally recommend including Dooks in the itinerary.

Best regards,

Ruairi,

Fantastic golf trip. Weather was great with no rain for the week – a small miracle. Thanks to you and your team, from our group of 4, for a spectacular week of golf in Ireland. The caddies and forecaddies were a great suggestion and had wonderful stories and excellent humor that enhanced the overall experience. We learned a lot about links golf from each of them. The Renault mini-bus was also ideal. Pass on my thanks to Eamonn for helping us get lodging in Killarney at short notice and late at night. I grew up in Ireland and this was my first experience as a “tourist” – I was so impressed and very proud to be an Irishman showing my American friends a magnificent part of the world. I have recommended you to several of my golfing circle since my return.

Many thanks.

Frank Thornton, WI, USA, 2013

Karen,

We have just returned home, and your GPS was put in the mail this morning at the Dublin airport.  Our trip went very well, and we thank you for your assistance.  We had a wonderful time, enjoyed all the courses we played, and the hotel accommodations were entirely suitable throughout our trip.  Please convey our appreciation to all at GVI who worked on our arrangements.

Best regards,

Larry Illion, NJ, USA, 2013

Karen,

reporting on our trip – it was flawless.  All arrangements you made for us were honored as planned.  Our driver, Danny O’Sullivan, did a wonderful job getting us to our golf courses and hotels, and giving us a little education and history about each area that we visited.

I will certainly recommend your company to anyone who inquires about Ireland (or Scotland) golf trips.

Many thanks for your help.

Chuck Smiley, KS, USA, 2013

Dear Susan,

We want you to know what a fantastic vacation you created for us. Everything about your tour was wonderful from the selection of hotels, golf courses, the route planning, the food choices, and a great itinerary. Ireland is absolutely lovely.

Thank you so much.

Bob and Marie Benevides, USA, 2010

OK….you are better than very good…you are great.

Season’s Lodge is excellent. Very nice hospitality. We spent Monday at Carne and had a great game in 3 hours. A perfect day for golf – sunshine, and little breeze.Tuesday was fabulous at Enniscrone GC – little wind and lots of sunshine. Went to the end of Achill Island which was a great drive. A large day. Really nice and interesting course – so pleased we booked it twice. We had dinner in Ballina which was pretty good too. Today we played early at Enniscrone before the weather closed in. There was more wind than the day before, but very pleasant. Golf club is a great place for lunch. Had dinner in Enniscrone, at Ait Eile, at Gilroy’s. Excellent. We’re off to Connemara/Clifden tomorrow. The four days here is just about right.

Thanks for all your help, and great choices.

Susan,

Thanks for coordinating our trip to Ireland. Traveling with two teenagers can be difficult, but everyone in the family had a great time exploring the northwest of Ireland. From the superb golf courses to galloping on the beaches (my wife and daughter rode 3 times in Enniscrone, Ballina, and Westport), we had a wonderful family trip.

We will definitely be back for another trip!

Greg Gruzdowich, USA, 2010

Hi, Susan.

We made it back alive from what both of us thought was a fabulous trip. We were very lucky with the weather, only rained 4 days out of the 18 – and it was only showers, not round stoppers. There were several days when the wind was probably 40 mph, which made hitting the ball very interesting but was great fun. We enjoyed the absolute stunning beauty of Old Head, which was very similar in many ways to Kauri Cliffs. We also enjoyed the almost 2500 km of beautiful Irish scenery we saw on the road. We squeezed in Dingle on the one free Sunday we had and played Portmarnock on the Thursday we had open prior to our departure. No complaints to note, although it was a little difficult using the GPS without the windshield mount. Also, I doubt anyone will follow our busy agenda (many of the Irish we talked to were in awe), but now having made the trip and seeing how large Tralee was (even had a McDonalds!), we think we could have stayed there for four nights (vice Ballybunion and Killarney) and covered Ballybunion(s), Tralee, and even Waterville and still been able to see Killarney and the environs. It would have been fairly easy for us to make the drives to/from the courses and being in one place for that period would have been a blessing. But that is a minor observation made in hindsight now that we are experts on Ireland.

Again, kudos to you and your staff for arranging an absolutely super trip. John and I are probably going to look at Scotland next summer because this trip went so smoothly and will certainly keep you in mind, we will definitely recommend you to any of our friends who ask us about setting up a trip to Ireland.
